What is Coaching?
-
Organic. -

-
An in-person or over-the-phone relationship with someone trained in: thought provoking questions, engaged listening, encouraging affirmation, effective accountability and intentional challenges.
-
A three month process of discovering where you are, where you want to be and the steps you will take to get there.
-
A series of conversations (up to 60 minutes a session) in which you choose what you want to focus on. Coaching may center on increased effectiveness in your profession or ministry, life decisions, spiritual depth, fuller relationships, a healthier or more peaceful lifestyle, etc.
-
A belief that you are capable of making wise choices and resourceful in generating solutions. The understanding that you follow through 70% more often when you are a part of creating a solution that fits you and have committed accountability.
-
Forward moving and future oriented.
-
An effort to attain what has previously seemed to elude, because having a regular appointment with a professional coach, keeps your goals in front of you and keeps you consistently growing.
-
Coaching Is Not:
-
Counseling, in which a counselor or psychologist help people heal from the past, reaching a level of health. Coaching is different in that a coach works with people who are at a healthy level and moves them forward to excellence.
-
Consulting, in which a specialist gives advice or has a set program to implement. Coaching is different in that coaches know it is more effective for our clients to be a part of creating the solution--one tailored to them as they are the experts on themselves. In coaching, each session is uniquely designed for the client. -
-
For those who are mentally unwell or those who are unwilling to change or put forth the effort to do so.
